Arts Technology Alumni
Our students have found rewarding careers in Web design, in the development of instructional media, and in advertising. We hope to soon see other graduates working with digital audio and in technical theatre, as well as continuing to do innovative installation and performance work. In many ways, a degree in Arts Technology simply prepares you to learn more; in the fast-changing environment of digital media, perhaps the best thing we can teach is an ability to adapt to the tools at hand.
As a growing field, Arts Technology has seen many innovative students over the years. Prior to the Fall of 2000, many students pursued a degree with a concentration in Arts Technology, or earned an independent major with a course of study similar to what became the Program in Arts Technology in the Fall of 2000.These students found under the umbrella of the Office of Research in Arts Technology the challenging and integrated coursework that fit their visions of how they wanted to grow as artists.
Mark Nowakowski '03
His coursework was equally split between AT courses and Music courses. He continued studying sax and composition, as he also worked on developing his web design skills. Mark is now pursuing a graduate degree in composition with an assistantship in music technology. "I can honestly say the following about the Arts Tech program: It gave me a realistic multi-tiered education, as well as academic options which have opened a myriad of roads to me. It was a two way street - I felt that I was being given the option determining a good portion of what I would study, while returning for this freedom by doing work which could benefit the program. I can only hope that my future academic experiences will be so progressive and personally beneficial as what I experienced with Arts Technology at ISU..." Mark Nowakowski, 2003

As a visionary in art, Tim can envision in perfect form, As he gives light to one of his favorite quotes ..."We are artists, we view the world different, we make people see beauty in places where it doesn't exist.
