The Visiting Artist Selection Process
Each year, a committee composed of School of Art faculty and students selects long-term visiting artists from a pool of applicants. The visiting artist committee, as well as School of Art faculty and students also nominate artists, critics, and curators to be invited as short-term visitors.
The visiting artist selection committee considers ethnic and gender balance, and a range of disciplines and approaches, while trying to select artists of diverse backgrounds from a variety of geographic locations.
Please note: Short-term residencies are by nomination only. We do not accept unsolicited applications from prospective short-term residents.
Artists of all disciplines are encouraged to apply to be a long-term visiting artist. Our 2013-14 call for applications is now open. Please download the application instructions here and submit your application before the deadline of March 8, 2013.
