Voice Performance
Musicians who choose voice performance for a major should anticipate becoming a professional musician. Persons in this position should be willing to work flexible hours with an income equal to that of an entrepreneur.
Voice performance majors should expect to spend the majority of their academic career rehearsing and practicing for the numerous performance opportunities here at Illinois State and at local performance venues. Ensemble participation and solo recitals are an essential part of the plan of study.
Upon graduation most students continue their music study in graduate school or seeking a performers certificate. Some opt to perform as a professional military musician.
