Illinois State University Contemporary Music Competition for Young Performers
Congratulations to cellist Luke Acerra, 15, of Bloomington, IL, on winning the Contemporary Music Competition for Young Performers! Luke will perform David Eby's Celtic Passage on Wednesday, March 6th, at 8 pm, in Kemp Recital Hall. Timpanist Sophie Katz received an Honorable Mention. Thank you to all of you who participated, the judges were pleased and impressed with your performances. This year, the judging panel included ISU faculty members Justin Vickers (Voice), Paul Nolen (Saxophone), Ben Stiers (Percussion), and Carl Schimmel (Music Theory/Composition).
