Other Theatre Opportunities
As well as our production of Anon(ymous) the School of Theatre and Dance has a few other opportunities this semester that deals with Socially Engaged Theatre. Both of these opportunities are free.
Staged Reading of 8
8 the play, which chronicles the successful efforts to overturn a ban on gay and lesbian marriage in California, will have a staged reading at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, at Illinois State University’s Center for Performing Arts.
Guest Artist, Ashley Lucas
Dr. Ashley Lucas—theatre scholar, playwright, and actor—is an Assistant Professor of Dramatic Art and Producing Artistic Director of the Teatro Latina/o Series at University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill (UNC). During her visit to ISU she will be performing her piece “Doin’ Time” as well as participating in a workshop and a discussion. Details are listed below
