“Oscillations of Gender and Genre” offers an interdisciplinary exploration of the dialogues that emerge from the nexuses of literary and visual creativity, particularly those that take into consideration the gendered forms and experiences of literature and art, and the intellectual conversations that happen between women across time and space through creative expression.

There is also a Marriott in the Uptown area and other hotels in Bloomington-Normal (though please be advised the Hyatt and the Marriott are the only two within walking distance of the University Galleries). There are other hotels in the area, but bear in mind you'll need to factor in additional transportation costs for taxis.
You can choose to fly into either of the Chicago airports (O’Hare or Midway) and reserve ground transportation with Peoria Charter, rent a car, or take Amtrak from Chicago Union Station to Normal, IL (both Peoria Charter and Amtrak are located in the Transportation Center, in the same building as the University Galleries and across the street from the Hyatt). You may also fly directly to the Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington, IL (BMI).
For those flying into BMI and staying at the Hyatt, you must arrange shuttle service from the airport ahead of time. Email Ashley Young (ashley.young@hyatt.com) with your name, flight #, time of pick up/drop off, and a contact phone number.
