Drawing
Overview
The drawing program promotes students' aesthetic and personal development as well as critical and historical understanding of drawing within the visual arts and our culture.
Beginning drawing courses emphasize observation and the traditional representation of objects and figure in space. Intermediate and advanced drawing courses, which also include figuration, address a wide range of personal and contemporary explorations.
Students work with traditional as well as experimental media. The Drawing Area has eight faculty members who maintain active careers, producing, exhibiting and publishing their artwork. Students receive substantial personal attention.
