Choral Ensembles
The Illinois State University choral program consists of non-auditioned and auditioned ensembles.
Non-Auditioned Ensembles
Treble Choir (MUS 186A01) is a non-auditioned treble ensemble. All first-time-in-college soprano/alto non-music majors should enroll in this ensemble. Membership is considered annual (both fall and spring semesters).
Civic Chorale (MUS 188) is a non-auditioned mixed ensemble which combines Illinois State University students and community members. All students may enroll without an audition.
Auditioned Ensembles
University Choir (Trebles MUS 186A02; Tenor/Bass MUS 185) is an auditioned mixed choir that consists of vocal music majors admitted to a voice studio (by placement) and non-music majors (by audition). Membership is considered annual (both fall and spring semesters).
Concert Choir (MUS 184/MUS 484) is an auditioned mixed choir open only to returning students and transfer students. First-time-in-college vocal music students are automatically placed University Choir. Membership is considered annual (both fall and spring semesters).
