For nearly half a century the Concert Choir, whose membership totals between forty and fifty singers, has maintained the highest standards of choral art, and has received acclaim throughout Illinois and the Midwest. The Concert Choir performs often during the academic year in addition to touring regularly and performing at state and regional music and education conferences. The Concert Choir's repertoire encompasses the entire spectrum of choral literature. Primarily for sophomores and above, a high level of music literacy is required. Auditions are held at the beginning of each semester; membership for the academic year is highly encouraged.Karyl Carlson, director.
Returning and transferring students with voice as their primary instrument are expected to submit an ensemble placement audition, comprised of two brief audio-only recordings. Students new to college begin auditions spring semester, and do not need to submit audition recordings at this time. The audition recording components:
