Teaching Interests & Areas

I teach Composition and Design for Digital Media at Illinois State University and have taught Computer Imaging and Design and Introduction to Digital Media at Heartland Community College.

I enjoy seeing education promote creativity and strengthen visual communication among students.

Research Interests & Areas

I use art to address heavy topics in approachable and interactive ways. My focus is on advocating for sustainable creative methods and furthering ecological efforts. I enjoy using organic or recycled materials in tandem with digital technologies that leave no large environmental footprint.

I am invested in the blend between digital and traditional media as it offers a juxtaposition between the digital world and the natural one. My creative process is fluid and I often create "Frankenstein” artworks by experimenting with new tools and seeing how I can use them to create new forms of mixed-media.
