Biography

Darby Wilde is an Associate Professor in the School of Theatre and Dance at Illinois State University and the Head of the Dance Program. Wilde earned her M.F.A. in Dance from the University of Michigan and immediately following began her performance career with Eisenhower Dance Ensemble (now Eisenhower Dance Detroit). During her tenure with the company, she was involved in numerous outreach residency programs in elementary/middle schools throughout Michigan, in addition to region and national touring.

She was on faculty at Collin College, located in Plano, Texas where a scholarship was awarded in her name. While in Texas, she performed with Elledanceworks. In addition, she has been on faculty at Oakland University, Mercer County Performing Arts High School, Illinois Wesleyan University and the Great Lakes Dance Festival. Ms. Wilde has premiered works in Nicosia, Cyprus, Michigan, Texas and New Jersey. Wilde is currently serving her second term as an ACDA National Board member.
