*MUS 459: Application of Systematic Research Methods in Music (3 credit hrs.)

Systematic research methods in music applied to individualized descriptive and experimental music research topics and critical evaluation of music research.
*MUS 473: Psychology of Music Learning (3 credit hr.)

Detailed study of topics concerning differential music behavior and perception. Topics include the mechanics of hearing, music memory, learning and responses.
MUS 493A22: IL—ACDA Summer Retreat (1-2 credit hrs.)
Instructor: Andy Bruhn
June 25-June 26 (at Normal Community High School)
This course is designed to provide music educators a way to receive graduate credit for participating in the IL-ACDA Summer Workshop. This class can be taken for 1-2 credit hours. The number of credits earned will be determined by the student’s final submission(s).
Student Outcomes:
- Examine diverse choral music from various time periods and levels.
- Describe what is learned through a reflection essay.
- Design a specific strategy for use in the classroom.
