How to Join

All students regardless of major are welcome to audition for one of our orchestras.

Annual Concerto-Aria Competition

Three finalists from each applied area (brass/percussion, keyboard, strings, voice, and woodwind) will appear in the Concerto-Aria Finals Competition. Two winners will be selected to perform in the ISU Symphony Orchestra's annual Concerto-Aria concert.

Illinois State University Big Red Marching Machine
Illinois State University’s Big Red Marching Machine (BRMM) is calling on alumni, the Redbird community to take part in their fall fundraising campaign, Everybody Gives $10! The campaign runs through November 1, 2025, with a goal of raising a minimum of $20,000 to support the purchase of new instruments and equipment.
