Synopsis
Revenge and murder intricately bind two families in semi-mythical rural Spain. Star-crossed lovers attempt to escape under cover of darkness, only to be pursued by the entire town. Lorca’s classic play unfolds through beautiful poetic imagery, adeptly translated into English by Langston Hughes (1901-1967) during the height of the Harlem Renaissance.
