Illinois State University Summer Band Camps

High School and Junior High Band Camps

We welcome you to the campus of Illinois State University for the 2026 High School and Junior High Band Camps. These camps are specifically designed for concert band musicians of every level to enrich their understanding of music in an enjoyable, non-competitive, and positive week-long program. In addition to rehearsals in the large ensembles, students will take part in sectionals, instrument specific master classes, and evening activities. The program will conclude with a band performance that is free and open to the public.

Registration

Registration opens February 1 and closes June 1.

Eligibility

  • High School Band Camp is for students entering grades 9-12 in the 2026-2027 school year.
  • Junior High Band Camp is for students entering grades 6-8 in the 2026-2027 school year.
  • All participants must have at least 1 year of playing experience.

Fee

  • High School and Junior High School Band Camps
    $500 for commuter campers*
    $700 for resident campers**

*Lunch, dinner, and evening activities are included for commuter campers. **Room and board are included for resident campers.

Participation Details

Approximately three weeks prior to the start of the program, participants will receive details about what to pack, arrival, parking, check-in, the daily schedule, and more.

Process and Deadlines

  • A $100 deposit is required to complete registration.
  • $400 is due by Monday, May 11.
  • Residential payment in full ($700) is due by Monday, June 1.
  • If students are receiving a scholarship or other forms of external funding, we ask that those payments be sent to ISU Bands prior to the June 1 deadline.

Please note: No refunds will be issued after May 11.

Once you submit your registration, you will be directed to the online payment store and receive an email with links and information to pay online.
