Illinois State University Summer Band Camps

High School and Junior High Band Camps

We welcome you to the campus of Illinois State University for the 2024 High School and Junior High Band Camps. These camps are specifically designed for concert band musicians of every level to enrich their understanding of music in an enjoyable, non-competitive, and positive week-long program. In addition to rehearsals in the large ensembles, students will take part in sectionals, instrument specific master classes, and evening activities. The program will conclude with a band performance that is free and open to the public.

Monday, June 10–Saturday, June 15, 2024

Junior High Band Camp
Sunday, June 23–Friday, June 28, 2024

Registration

Eligibility

  • High School Band Camp is for students entering grades 9-12 in the 2024-2025 school year.
  • Junior High Band Camp is for students entering grades 6-9 in the 2024-2025 school year.  
  • All participants must have at least 1 year of playing experience.

Fee

  • $425 for commuter campers
  • $625 for resident campers (includes room and board)

*Lunch, dinner, and evening activities are included for commuter campers.

Participation Details
Approximately three weeks prior to the start of the program, participants will receive details about what to pack, arrival, parking, check-in, the daily schedule, and more.

Daily Schedule Overview

  • Day 1:

    3 p.m.to 6:30 p.m. – Registration
    6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Camp Orientation Meeting

    7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. – First Rehearsal

  • Day 2-5:

    8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Daily Rehearsals, Masterclass, Sectionals
    7 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Evening Activities

  • Day 6:

    5 p.m. – Final Concert

Process and Deadlines

  • A $100 deposit is required to complete registration.
  • $425 is due by Monday, May 6.
  • Residential payment in full ($625) is due by Monday, June 3.
  • If students are receiving a scholarship or other forms of external funding, we ask that those payments be sent to ISU Bands prior to the June 3 deadline.

Please note: No refunds will be issued after May 5.
