Creative Technologies Internships

Learn about how you can take the next steps in your scholarship search.

  • Eligibility

Undergraduate students who have completed at least 45 credit hours, and GPA of at least 2.5 qualify for internship.

  • Term

Internships can be taken in the Spring, Summer, or Fall. Students should begin their search a full semester in advance of their preferred semester.

  • Academic Credit

Internships are offered to eligible students for academic credit. Three credit hours require 15 hours of internship per week. May be repeated for a maximum of six hours.

  • Duties

Duties vary according to internship. You will negotiate your internship duties with your supervisor.

  • Stipend/Pay

Most internships offer no pay and students should expect that. Occasionally an internship offers a stipend or hourly wage. You will need to take this into consideration when applying for internships.

  • Evaluation

Students will be given a letter grade (A-F) based on the following criteria:

    • Student agrees to submit bi-weekly updates to advisor
    • On-site supervisor and student agree to write an evaluation and submit it on scheduled date. Failure to submit an evaluation from both supervisor and student by due date will result in a failing grade.
  • Application Procedures

Students should download the Internship Contract have it completed, signed then bring it to CVA 108 or email Jody DeCremer for an appointment. Once your application is approved, please register for ATK 398.00 section 1, through My.IllinoisState.edu.

  • Preparing for Internships

Students should prepare a resume and have it available at your application meeting. Resume preparation and critiques are available through ISU's Career Center. Students should also be aware that the Career Center offers mock interviews and one-on-one career advisement at no charge.

Finding an Internship

There are a number of ways to find an internship. Students are encouraged to search the web to get started. You can also browse the Department's listings of internship opportunities. These postings are by some employers who have requested that interested students apply. For information about these listings email Jody DeCremer.

In addition, the ISU Career Center offers a number of job and internship fairs throughout the year. You are encouraged to attend these fairs as many local and national organizations will be available to discuss their opportunities.

ISU's Career Center also maintains a database, which is available only to ISU students.
