Studio Details

  • Private Lessons

Each student takes a private lesson each week with the professor.

  • Master Class

In addition, there is a weekly “master class” session during which a variety of activities take place. There may be student performances, bassoon ensemble rehearsals, or guest appearances.

  • Chamber Music

What is more, we have a chamber ensemble program in which you will have the opportunity to perform woodwind quintets and other literature. Each chamber ensemble is coached by a full time faculty artist.

  • Reed Making

“The reed is the key which opens the door to bassoon playing.” My students jump right into reed making from the start of the Illinois State experience. I will guide you and help you to acquire the necessary training and tools. Necessary tools are available to studio members while the student will have to provide materials, at a minimal price.
