Arts Technology student Eric Jordan interned at HST Materials Inc last summer. He along with fellow intern Jack Miller invented a ‘Cone of Silence’ for one of their loudest machines in the warehouse, the Atom Flashcut Flex machine. Eric helped design a three-layered enclosure that has lowered the noise in the warehouse by 11 decibels. In response to the ‘Cone of Silence,’ Elk Grove Village recognized the company’s Excellence in Innovation at the 2015 Elk Grove Manufacturing and Technology Expo and awarded them the 2015 Business Excellence Award. Congratulations Eric!!!
