Overview
The Master of Music in Music Therapy is designed to produce highly qualified and knowledgeable music therapists who have advanced training in music and its therapeutic applications. Students take classes in advanced study in music, the behavioral sciences, music therapy theory and application, and research methodology.
An MM in music therapy qualifies individuals for:
- supervisory or coordinator positions in arts therapies
- college/university entry-level music therapy positions
- producing and disseminating scholarly work in music therapy through presentations/publications
Graduate students with an undergraduate degree in music, may simultaneously take undergraduate deficiency courses in music therapy while pursuing a Master's degree.
